I had a good time at the Kuta Silversmith workshop! The experience was highly engaging and well-guided, perfect for anyone looking to try their hand at crafting a piece of jewelry from scratch. With patient and clear step-by-step instructions, I was able to melt down raw silver, shape it, solder the band, file and polish it into a custom-made ring. The instructors were attentive and gave just the right balance of support and independence, making the process feel genuinely hands-on. I really appreciated how involved we got to be in each stage of the silversmithing process, nothing felt overly commercial or rushed.
If I could wish for one improvement, it would be the inclusion of a short segment or story about the historical significance of silversmithing in Bali. The island has such rich cultural roots in the silver trade, and weaving that context into the session would have added even more depth to the experience.
A meaningful, skill-building activity I’d recommend to anyone visiting Bali who enjoys artisanal crafts or wants a tangible memory to take home.
